First Findings from Conventions 2020 Study to be presented at IMEX Association Day 2010
Organised in partnership with IMEX, ICCA and Fast Future Research, the Conventions 2020 Study is now well under way thanks to strong involvement and participation among industry and futurist contributors. With research for Phase One of the programme soon drawing to a close, association executives will be keen to sign up to Association Day at IMEX 2010 in Frankfurt for the first chance to see a full presentation on the findings from this phase, entitled ‘The Meetings Experience’.
Rohit Talwar, CEO of Fast Future, will talk attendees through this first report that examines how to understand the 'meetings experience' so that live events hosts and exhibitors can meet the changing needs of their delegates. His presentation will include: analysis of global trends and the implications for the meetings sector; key meetings industry trends, issues and challenges; a ‘technology timeline to 2020’ for future meetings, exhibitions and events; implications, challenges and opportunities for venues and destinations; and recommendations for event owners, planners and industry suppliers.
Expect old assumptions to be challenged and the encouragement of fresh new thinking that will drive the industry forward into the next decade. This presentation is scheduled to take place on Association Day afternoon on Monday 24 May 2010 at Messe Frankfurt Congress Centre, topping an already packed agenda of presentations and discussions from a global line-up of some of the industry’s leading thinkers and representatives.
Association Day has become a landmark meeting for many worldwide association meetings professionals and is increasingly viewed as a unique opportunity to exchange opinions and best practice with peers from around the globe.
In addition to the exclusive presentation of the latest Conventions 2020 research, the schedule for IMEX Association Day 2010 will also include ‘Strategic Global Planning for Associations’, ‘How To Decide Where To Hold Your International Congresses’ and ‘Leveraging Conference Content Online’, as well as a concurrent German-language session. Additionally, break-out groups will offer the opportunity for delegates to join round-table discussions and tackle two topics of their choice. With moderators ensuring that conversations remain as direct, open and outcome-based as possible, the round-table discussion format always proves to be popular and unearths a huge variety of hot topics ranging from association marketing strategy to legal issues, fundraising and maintaining relationships with other global associations.
*Association executives who organise meetings and congresses internationally may qualify for the IMEX hosted buyer programme which includes complimentary flights or train travel, 4/5 star accommodation in Frankfurt, ground transfers, exclusive association education and many more benefits.
