Education Department Intern 

Are you a passionate and creative individual with an interest in education, seeking an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in the events industry? We are looking for a tech-savvy, motivated, and enthusiastic Education Department Intern to join our team.

As an intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Education Department's day-to-day operations, contributing to various projects, and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and events professionals in a dynamic and supportive environment.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Administrative support: assist in handling administrative tasks, including but are not limited to, scheduling, communication, data entry, maintain registration system, website, and learning platform, and developing and updating curriculum materials.
  2. Logistics support: assist in organising and coordinating online and in-person courses and meetings. This may involve preparing materials, managing invitations,
  3. Database management: help maintain records and databases related to learner performance and programme outcomes.
  4. Platform management: help maintain the websites, e-Learning platform, and registration system, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.
  5. Content creation: assist in creating engaging and informative social media content, global mailing, and promotional materials, highlighting educational initiatives, upcoming courses, and important updates.
  6. Multimedia creation: help edit educational videos and produce presentations and promotional materials and handouts.
  7. Deal with external queries: serve as a point of contact for external inquiries related to the education department. Respond professionally and efficiently, providing accurate information and directing inquiries to the appropriate team members when necessary.

                                                                                               

Essential Skills

  1. Detail-orientated and organised: a meticulous eye for detail with strong organisational abilities is essential in ensuring accurate information dissemination in a timely manner.
  2. Tech-savvy: proficiency in various computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and teams), is crucial for successful completion of tasks and effective communication.
  3. Communication proficiency: excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  4. People person: strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital for engaging with colleagues, stakeholders, and the public in a courteous and helpful manner.
  5. Value confidentiality: the nature of our work often involves handling sensitive information. It is crucial for the intern to demonstrate a high level of discretion and respect for confidentiality.
  6. Self-driven and team-orientated: Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  7. Dynamic adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Video editing skills (desirable): experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Shotcut, iMovie, or Clipchamp, etc.) to assist in the production of educational videos and multimedia content.
  9. Graphic design skills (desirable): proficiency in graphic design software or platforms (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, Canva or Visme, etc.) to create visually appealing promotional materials, programme materials, and presentations.

 

Internship Details

  1. Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Education, Administration, Event Management, or a related field.
  2. Duration: this is a 6-month internship position, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organisational needs.
  3. Location: ICCA Head Office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands with a hybrid working environment that requires 3 days in the office. The intern may work remotely if he/she/they is/are based outside the Netherlands.
  4. Start date: 1 September 2023 or earlier.
  5. Hours: 5 days a week with a total of 37.5 hours.
  6. Compensation: €400 gross monthly salary with commuting allowance.
