First an artist, then a serial entrepreneur, Sumaira Isaacs is a MICE and Tourism industry veteran with over 25 years of experience having led some largest DMC and PCO organizations around the world. She has been an advisor to tourist boards, associations and local governments and has served on various industry association boards throughout her storied career.
Her first direct ‘convention’ experience was with MCI Group, as COO for Middle East, Africa, India & Canada, where she oversaw the PCO department amongst other divisions. She later served as CEO of the World Tourism Forum Institute (WTFi), London UK – a tourism think tank focussed on ‘Reshaping Economies Through Tourism Investments’ – in which still sits on as a board member.
Currently, she has taken on the challenge of reinventing one of the most reputable MICE DMC brands in the Middle East – Gulf Dunes LLC. In her short tenure, she has already implemented pioneering and creative solutions that see the company branch out into the high-concept events space and PCO development and is working closely with the regional tourism authorities to create long-term value for their respective destinations.
Sumaira Isaacs is a leader on topics including strategic development, globalization and diversity of today’s tourism industry. She has helped tourism boards, convention boards, industry associations and local governments make quantitative progress in addressing the gaps in the tourism industry and drive further innovation.
