José is a very experienced industry professional. He brings a particular skillset that will enhance our Chapter performance in many insightful and creative ways. With expertise in media and travel and tourism space, José has a proven track record stimulating growth through the monetisation of digital, social, mobile, video, partnerships and sponsorship platforms; and building strategic partnerships with major global brands, tourism, government entities, CVB’s, and state and city government Destination Management Organisations.  


José has a Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Literature, and is multilingual speaking English, Spanish, Portuguese and French. He has a broad and extensive network covering tourism, foreign governments, business development, and global media organisations.  


Before joining ICCA, José was a self-employed Media Sales Strategy and Business Development Consultant. Previous positions include Vice President Commercial Sales (Americas) at Culture Trip USA, Vice President Advertising Sales (Americas) at Lonely Planet, and Director of Digital Media Sales at the Travel Channel.  


We are  confident José will bring much to ICCA as our newest Regional Director and help build on the many successes we have enjoyed in 2023. He will create a true value proposition for our members, growth in the North America market, and enhance the ICCA Community. He of course succeeds the inimitable Ksenija Polla, who can now fully focus on her role as Head of Education and Legacy Programmes.
