The BI feedback button is your friend! The more you use it, the more concrete information you get. ICCA members - together with the ICCA team - are working hard to achieve a mutually beneficial situation of sharing information on the ICCA Business Intelligence Database.

Keep finding ways to press it and you'll be in the running to become the next Researcher of the Month - or even Researcher of the Year!

Luz Aida Salcedo, Senior Bureau Officer at Invest in Bogota has secured the coveted title this month! Here's what Luz Aida had to say:

How is the ICCA database beneficial for your work/organisation?

The ICCA database is a valuable source of information, particularly because of the historical data it provides. This allows us to better analyze variables such as the destination’s potential, event duration, average size, and to identify potential partners from the outset. It is more than just a search tool; it serves as a source of analysis and comparison, complementing what our local partners or ambassadors share with us. Through it, we can find common sources aligned with our contacts’ interests, helping us make more informed decisions.

Do you have any tips for your fellow ICCA members?

My main advice is to focus on themes and potential sectors that align with your objectives, and don’t be afraid to explore options beyond the traditional destination preferences that international organizations may have expressed. Dare to seek new opportunities beyond the familiar paths.

What positive message would you like to share with ICCAWorld?

Latin America continues to grow steadily and decisively. As young nations, we have much to learn from more experienced countries, and we are always hungry for knowledge and growth. However, we also have innovative ideas and new business opportunities. Cities like Bogota are prime examples of having the infrastructure and services necessary to host world-class events blended with our warmth and hospitality make us always welcoming on an international level, facilitating business and knowledge exchange in unique and different ways.  Colombia and mostly of the Latin America Region are ready to boost the meetings industry in a more organized manner, giving it the respect and status it deserves.
