The BI feedback button is your friend! The more you use it, the more concrete information you get. ICCA members - together with the ICCA team - are working hard to achieve a mutually beneficial situation of sharing information on the ICCA Business Intelligence Database.
Keep finding ways to press it and you'll be in the running to become the next Researcher of the Month - or even Researcher of the Year!
Sherylee Eyles, Senior Business Development Manager at Tourism New Zealand has secured the coveted title this month! Here's what Sherylee had to say:
How is the ICCA database beneficial for your work/organisation?
I use the ICCA database everyday as a tool to find conference opportunities we would like to attract to New Zealand, how we can connect with the international organisation as well as information to try identify the potential local host/champion. The updated tool gives further detail and the expanded search features are appreciated.
Do you have any tips for your fellow ICCA members?
Make use of “your notes”! There is a note/comment section in your view – use it. When you have several team members using the system, those notes are incredibly valuable and allows you to share additional insights or information with your team.
What positive message would you like to share with ICCAWorld?
One thing I would like to share with my ICCAWorld colleagues is the importance of relationships. We have a Māori saying in New Zealand, “He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata, he tangata he tangata.” This translates to “What is the most important thing? It is people, it is people it is people.” Working in this industry for several years, I’ve been lucky enough to create some long-standing relationships and have clients/colleagues that I have worked with for the last 15 - 20 years. I also love attending international events and meeting more of our incredible industry from around the world.
