What was your motivation to join ICCA?
At VOQIN’, we believe in the power of meaningful connections - and ICCA represents the very network where those connections thrive. Our motivation to join ICCA stems from a desire to collaborate, share knowledge, and contribute to the global conversation on the evolution of the events and meetings industry. As a company rooted in emotional thinking and purpose-driven experiences, we saw ICCA as a platform to both learn from and inspire peers who are equally committed to excellence and innovation in this field.
Tell us your story. How did your organisation get started?
VOQIN’ began over 20 years ago with a mission to deliver unforgettable experiences that create lasting emotional impact. Founded in Portugal, and now operating also in Spain, and Saudi Arabia, VOQIN’ evolved from a local DMC into an international events and destination company. Our journey has been shaped by a strong entrepreneurial spirit, a client-centric mindset, and a belief that emotions are the most powerful drivers of human connection and business transformation.
What sets your organisation apart?
We are not just event planners - we are emotion creators. VOQIN’ stands out for its proprietary Emotional Thinking Methodology, which places emotions at the center of experience design. This approach allows us to strategically shape how people feel, think, and act at events, driving deeper engagement and long-term results. Whether it's a congress, strategic meeting, incentive, product launch, or immersive brand activation, our focus is always on creating impact - through creativity, cultural relevance, and seamless execution.
What is your favourite success story from your organisation?
A recent standout success story for VOQIN’ was orchestrating the Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) 2024 Annual Convention in Marbella, Spain. This prestigious three-day event brought together general managers, hotel owners, and industry leaders from LHW’s global portfolio of independent luxury hotels.
Under the theme “The Pursuit of Excellence,” the convention featured dynamic sessions on topics such as generative AI in hospitality, evolving luxury consumer behaviors, and strategies for talent retention. VOQIN’ transformed traditional conference settings by creating a custom-made venue on the tennis courts of Puente Romano Resort, facilitating inspiring content and engaging presentations.
Beyond the conference, attendees experienced immersive cultural activities, including flamenco classes, culinary workshops, and a grand finale at the Marbella Arena, which featured an awards ceremony and a spectacular audiovisual show. VOQIN’s meticulous attention to detail and emotional thinking methodology ensured that the event was not just a meeting but a transformative experience that left a lasting impact on all participants.
Can you name a challenge your organisation is currently facing?
Like many in our industry, one of our current challenges is navigating talent retention and development in a post-pandemic world, especially as we scale internationally. Attracting multidisciplinary talent who align with our values, and equipping them with the skills to deliver emotionally intelligent and innovative experiences, is key. At the same time, we are focused on accelerating our digital transformation - ensuring that all our processes are optimized for maximum efficiency, collaboration, and scalability. Balancing human creativity with smart systems is essential to maintain agility and deliver the highest-quality results to our clients.
What can we expect to see from your organisation in the future?
You can expect VOQIN’ to continue evolving as a thought leader in emotional experience design. We're investing in innovation through our internal Future Lab, integrating technology, AI, and behavioral insights to shape the future of live and hybrid events. We're also expanding our global footprint, with a focus on sustainable, culturally immersive, and emotionally intelligent programs.
