Meet the faces behind ICCA's famous First Time Attendee programme! ICCA places huge importance on giving First Time Attendees (FTAs) at the ICCA Congress a very warm welcome. Each year, just before the ICCA Congress begins, new attendees are invited to join a specialised session that aims to prepare them for success. Jam-packed full of helpful advice that is delivered from member to member, the programme has been delivered to over 3,000 delegates since it initially began and is designed with care to help them network, do business, learn, and maximise the benefits of attending their first ICCA Congress.
At the centre of the entire programme are the people we couldn’t do it without: our mentors, an amazing group of ICCA members and #ICCAFriends who are Congress veterans and want to help support and steer our newbies as they join the ICCA Family.
Meet Hammad Al Roushdi
During 6+ years of in-depth involvement in marketing and the events industry, I acquired experience and skills abilities through my employment experience at Oman Convention Bureau and the Events Department at Oman Ministry of Tourism. I was responsible for positioning Oman as hub for business events in the region by preparing the marketing plan and its budget, research and develop opportunities for marketing that involve advertising online, specialist publications and international trade shows.
Since the beginning of 2019 I’m the business development manager for Oman Convention Bureau. Nowadays; this enable me to focus on research for potential clients through many research tools including ICCA database, plus bidding, pre events planning and support corporates and associations in site inspections, beside that I’m in charge for creating the marketing plan for the bureau and oversee the branding, and achieve the business objectives.
Working this close with ICCA since 2013 has increased awareness about the importance of meeting industry for the destination. My first ICCA congress took place in Kuching (Malaysia) in 2016.
The experience and networking I had with other experts in field are relation I keep very closely in my day to day.
I think now I’m able to share with you my experience and thoughts about the meeting industry and assist you to get the maximum benefits from attending such a great networking event like ICCA Congress.
