Meet the faces behind ICCA's famous First Time Attendee programme! ICCA places huge importance on giving First Time Attendees (FTAs) at the ICCA Congress a very warm welcome. Each year, just before the ICCA Congress begins, new attendees are invited to join a specialised session that aims to prepare them for success. Jam-packed full of helpful advice that is delivered from member to member, the programme has been delivered to over 3,000 delegates since it initially began and is designed with care to help them network, do business, learn, and maximise the benefits of attending their first ICCA Congress.

At the centre of the entire programme are the people we couldn’t do it without: our mentors, an amazing group of ICCA members and #ICCAFriends who are Congress veterans and want to help support and steer our newbies as they join the ICCA Family.

Meet Eric Abramson

As a French-American executive with over 30 years of international sales and marketing management experience on 4 continents, I have been active in the Event Industry for the past 9 years.
I hold a Master’s and Bachelor’s, summa cum laude, in Hospitality Management from Florida International University. Fluent in four languages (French native, English, Spanish, and Japanese), passionate about foreign cultures and people, I have traveled to 92 countries and lived overseas for 22 years (Japan, U.S., and Mexico).  
As director of major accounts for GL Events Venues’ Management Division, my main focus is on international sales and partnerships with key associative and corporate accounts. I am also a Steering Committee’s member for ICCA’s Asia-Pacific Chapter.
Our Group, GL events, is a leading international integrated group which has been operating in every area of the the Event Industry for the past 40 years; and has been listed on the French Stock Exchange for the past 20 years.  GL events’ 2018 sales exceeded € 1,041 billion. The Group counts 4,500 employees, and 50 Venues around the world under direct management. Gl events’ other areas of expertise include services, F&B, and trade shows.
