Survey reveals expectation gap between organisers and attendees

Organisers and their audiences disagree about the value of social media in meetings, a recently published survey has shown.
Titled 'GREAT EXPECTATIONS: the evolving landscape of technology in meetings', the American Express Meetings & Events report reveals that 43 percent of planners feel social media capabilities are very important, while only 35 percent of attendees felt the same way.
Some 336 meeting planners and 161 meeting and event attendees were interviewed in the first half of 2014. Respondents were primarily based in North America.
