The ICCA Best Marketing Award sponsored by The Meetings Show, was established in 1997 and recognises the excellence and outstanding achievements of organisations in their effort to market their destination or product. Entries can range from full-scale campaigns and branding exercises to individual promotions and events. Submission components traditionally included: innovation and creativity, research and rationale, return on investment, success in meeting the objectives, and communication. The Best Marketing Award is open to all ICCA members, regardless of their sector.
However, last year for the 59th ICCA Congress 2020, Kaohsiung, Chinese Taipei – A Hybrid Experience, a special edition of the award was formed “Recognising Leadership in Transformation”. In light of the social and economic circumstances, the award in 2020 recognised the best examples of transformative action from our members and associations. In keeping with this ethos, one winner was not selected, instead a selection of submissions were chosen and recognised during the Congress.

'We have really worked hard for this. For our destination it gives huge visibility. It really puts us on the map. Estonia is such a small destination and our team is only 3 people, so it is hard to get noticed. I think we got noticed now. We really feel like we have won the Oscars for the international meetings industry!'
Riine Tiigi & Kadri Karu, Estonian Convention Bureau - BMA winner 2019
'We are honoured to get this recognition from our global peers and the judging panel. It's a real endorsement of trying to pull together a strategy on a national level for Scotland to join everything together for the cities and the regions. We're thrilled to bits, and there's no higher endorsement than winning the ICCA Best Marketing Award. '
