ICCA Top Tip – June 2019

Be a Research Example to your peers! If you are the one searching for business for your company, then make sure you receive the credit for it!

Become a Researcher of the Month

If you search the database on a regular basis for potential business for your destination, you are bound to come across information that is not yet in the ICCA Association Database. With only a few clicks you can report the information you found to ICCA by using the Report an Update button. ICCA staff will check the information, and when correct add it to the database. The person sending the most useful information will win the honourary title of Researcher of the Month.

What does that mean?

It means that your name and face will be on our website and in our newsletter with a short interview. It means personal profiling and exposure for your employer. We have heard that sometimes it can even lead to a promotion!

Every year we select a Researcher of the Year out of the 12 Researchers of the Month we've awarded, who will then also receive a voucher of €500 to be spent on an ICCA event.

This way researchers, who are usually the quiet types working all day in the office and not travelling much (or at all), become more visible and acknowledged as one of the pillars of a destination’s success.
And winning money to be spent on an ICCA event gives the researcher the opportunity to share his or her expertise with others, gain more knowledge of the meetings industry and to build a valuable network which all can lead to even better work results and motivation.

All you have to do is make sure ICCA receives the information you found, by using one of the following buttons:

  • Report an update
  • Add meeting edition
  • New meeting

Make sure you have your own log in and password!

When sending your input to us, please make sure you are using your own log-in and password. It is no longer allowed to use the login and password of a colleague, due to GDPR. Please check at the bottom of the form you want to fill in if your name is mentioned. If not, please have a look at this video to see how you can obtain your own credentials.
