The red update button is your friend! The more you use it, the more concrete information you get. ICCA members - together with the ICCA team - are working hard to achieve a mutually beneficial situation of sharing information on the ICCA Association Database.
Keep finding ways to press it and you'll be in the running to become the next Researcher of the Month - or even Researcher of the Year!
For October 2019, Ling Wen Ya, Market Research Assistant at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre has secured the coveted title! Here's what Ling had to say:
Why do you consider it so important to contribute your meeting information to ICCA Data?
Everybody spends time to research on information that are scattered everywhere across the Web. I bet we have all thought about this, “How good would it be if I could find all the info I needed in one place?” This thought became my motivation to contribute updates to ICCA Database as I’m doing research, whether it is for the convenience of all other researchers and ICCA members around the world, our organization, or even for my own future reference. Imagine the amount of time that can be saved just from one person who is willing to click the red button, where the time could very well be used on other things compared to many people doing doublework. Little contributions from all ICCA members will go a long way!
What would you like to say to other ICCA members who haven’t actively used the ICCA Database?
Are you looking to bid for or host an international conference with little to no information on the event profile? Make use of the ICCA Database to get a quick view on the meeting profile to understand the general information of the event, its history, rotation pattern, decision making process and bidding requirements, as well as the organization and contact details all in one place!
ICCA Database is a valuable tool and resource that also provides industry news, notifications of Calls for Bids, and the statistics report on the association meetings by destinations for you to better understand how your country/city is competing against others. In short, it is a knowledge hub for all associations and suppliers that should be actively used by all ICCA members.
Do you have any tips for your fellow ICCA members?
Doing research can be a very tedious task, especially when there are tens of thousands of meeting profiles that could be your potential leads. However, with the help of the ICCA database search tool, you are able to set the parameters and filter out the potential leads, allowing you to focus your research only on a small portion of meetings at a time without being overwhelmed by the total number of meetings in the database.
It’s incredibly important you log in to the Association Database using your own account! The more updates you make to the Database, the greater chance you have of being named the Researcher of the Month - and we can’t be sure it’s you pressing the red button if you’re using your colleague’s details. Please help us end the confusion so this accolade continues to go to the right person.
