Four open vacancies at Qatar National Convention Centre

The Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) has four open vacancies and is looking to hire new staff. You can find a short summary of the four open vacancies below. Qatar National Convention Centre, due to open in 2011, is operated by AEG Ogden, one of the world's leading venue management specialists, which also manages the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malasya, and the Brisbane, Cairns and Darwin Convention Centres in Australia.

QNCC OPEN VACANCIES

1. HEALTH, SAFETY, SECURITY & ENVIRONMENT (HSSE) MANAGER

You will be responsible for:

  • Plan and manage the HSSE Department’s budget to ensure sufficient resources are available to effectively
  • Implement and maintain the HSSE initiatives
  • Plan to ensure adequate resources to support function/event-related activities
  • Develop an inspection programme.
  • Develop and implement a training program, in conjunction with Human Resources & Housing, in safety and health hazards and risk and environment aspects/impacts for all personnel working on the organisation’s behalf
  • Coordinate the development of the company’s HSSE Programme in conjunction with other departmental managers
  • Develop and implement a programme of continual HSSE improvement throughout the Company
  • Implement and maintain a management system which meets the requirements of ISO9001:2000
  • Manage and control the functional duties of the HSSE Department staff, including internal auditors, as appropriate.
  • Manage and monitor the relevant statutory requirements and appropriate standards and ensure compliance within the Company
  • Act as the nominated company Management Representative under the terms of ISO9001:2000 and as a representative in HSSE initiatives
  • Ensure there is appropriate documentation of firefighting equipment after inspection/servicing/calibration has been done
  • Respond to any emergency situation involving injury and/or property damage
  • Respond to any enquiries from regulatory bodies such as the Supreme Council of Health, Ministry of Municipal
  • Affairs, etc.
  • Respond to any management inquiries related to HSSE
  • Develop and motivate staff to consistently perform to customers’ satisfaction
  • Recruit, lead and motivate a multi-national team.

2. ASSISTANT BUILDING SERVICES MANAGER

You will be responsible for:

  • Assist the Building Services Manager in planning the maintenance programme to ensure the facility’sequipment and building are in serviceable condition.
  • Plan to ensure that there are sufficient resources to support event/function-related activities
  • Implement maintenance programme to ensure all activities are carried out as per maintenance plan
  • Manage the functional duties of department personnel, including outsource service staff as appropriate
  • Conduct regular inspections and verification of work done
  • Meet and discuss with internal and external customers to ensure requirements are fulfilled satisfactorily
  • Monitor and evaluate the facility’s energy to optimise usage and costs
  • Monitor and evaluate in-house and outsource technicians’ competency and service level
  • Attend daily event meetings to prepare event/function requirements
  • Conduct regular meeting with staff.
  • Coordinate and oversee all Building Services outsourced programme and work requests.

3. ASSISTANT F&B MANAGER

You will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the day to day operations in the Food and Beverage Department- service and operations with the primary emphasis on service delivery, standards and quality
  • Supporting the Director of Food & Beverage in shaping and developing the department’s management and personnel
  • Successfully driving and achieving the departmental business plan and objectives
  • Developing, implementing and improving F&B policies and procedures
  • Developing and administering appropriate controls within the Food and Beverage Department related to Goods,
  • Labour and Operating Costs
  • Implementing and monitoring the pricing policy for all Food and Beverage products and services
  • Communicating and interacting with all departments in the event management process and ensure successful delivery of service for internal and external customers
  • Contributing to the departmental annual budget and business plan
  • Preparing regular management and variance reports
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with all event partners, hirers and suppliers
  • Leading and managing a highly successful and motivated Food & Beverage team

4. MANAGER - EVENT OPERATIONS

You will be responsible for:

  • Simultaneously planning, organizing multiple complex events within any given period of time, interpreting accurately and timely client requirements
  • Facilitating and maintaining effective communication of event and operational plans between Clients,
  • Contractors and QNCC Departments and Teams thereby going beyond Client, Guest and/or Service Partner expectation
  • Providing onsite day-to-day direction for all event related activities and support services before, during and after the assigned event; ensuring the successful execution of the QNCC’s responsibilities; making necessary adjustments and remaining accessible at all times during the duration of the assigned event
  • Maximizing revenue through effective up-selling and yield management of available facilities and services
  • Accurately processing and submitting timely financial information prior to, during and immediately following each financial quarter
  • Regularly following up and through on Client Feedback
  • Producing daily, weekly and monthly reports
