This month, CIMERT organised its first ever Digital Campus from 6 to 13 July, assembling educators, partners, and industry professionals to bring together discussions and best practices about topics which concerns all of us. The CIMERT Digital Campus was themed “Building Development Momentum of the Conference & Exhibition Industry in Post Covid-19 Era”, a free week-long e-lectures running daily and open to all ICCA China members as well as the business community.
Each day at 14:30 PM Malaysia Time, CIMERT Digital Campus hosted a series of 6 livestreamed episodes connecting the faculty speaker to the attendees covering a wide range of hot topics ranging from response measures to Covid-19, rebound strategy, venue innovation, cross-cultural communication, virtual events to association-supplier partnership. The Digital Campus featured a diverse faculty of speakers, bringing in local and overseas industry experts from association, PCO, media, venue and consultancy, to discuss challenges, opportunities and possible solutions to address the new normal.

Education is the cornerstone of communities
This plethora of program aims to generate new knowledge and serve the e-learning community. The 6-day Education Week is initiated by CIMERT, a joint initiative among four parties: ICCA, Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Exposition (CCPIT Chengdu Sub-council), Chengdu University and MeetingsChina Magazine. The aim of this digital campus was to look ahead to prepare for what’s next and consider what we as a global community can take from this experience into the future of business. The event brought together nearly 200 online attendees from China and Macao (China-P.R.), connecting government representatives, associations, industry partners, academia and professionals with continuous education which will support their personal and professional development.

Each episode was one hour-long lecture plus 20 mins of Q&A interactive session which gave the audience an opportunity to interact with the speakers directly to cover knowledge gaps by asking questions instantly. Every speaker shared valuable insights and professional experiences coupled with real-life case studies or analyzed upcoming trends.
