New Rotterdam Congress Kit

Press Release

15th April 2013

New Rotterdam Congress Kit supports international congress organisers

Rotterdam Marketing is launching the ‘Rotterdam Congress Kit’ especially for international congress organisers holding their events in Rotterdam. The compact, convenient English-language publication provides all relevant and up-to-date information about Rotterdam as a congress city. The new tool allows congress organisers to even more effectively promote the location of their congress among potential attendees.

‘Before participants decide whether to sign up for a particular congress, they tend to consider a number of factors. What is the host city like, how is the accessibility, and do you require a visa to travel there? The information contained in the Rotterdam Congress Kit, which provides answers to all these questions, can be posted on the congress website by the organiser. This supports organisers in promoting their congress and makes it easier for attendees and potential attendees to prepare for the event,’ said Joyce Wittelaar, Rotterdam Marketing’s Congress (Associations) Account Manager.

The Rotterdam Congress Kit includes three components: Congress Tools, Destination Information and Promotional Tools. This gives congress organisers a comprehensive overview of the services provided by Rotterdam Marketing, of all relevant information about the city of Rotterdam and all the promotional materials available.

Rotterdam: World Port World City

Rotterdam, the ‘Gateway to Europe’, has the largest seaport in Europe and is centrally located at the crossroads of major road, rail and water links. Downtown Rotterdam is only 15 minutes from Rotterdam The Hague Airport. The short distances and fast check-in & check-out procedures make travelling via Rotterdam The Hague Airport fast and easy.

Flights regularly land at Rotterdam The Hague Airport from major cities in neighbouring countries, operated by various airlines. Transavia and City Jet fly between London and Rotterdam. Lufthansa has direct flights from Rotterdam to Munich. When travelling from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, the Fyra train takes you to Rotterdam in just 27 minutes.

Rotterdam offers a wide choice of hotel accommodation. Several new hotels will be opening in 2013, which will raise the total number of hotel rooms in Rotterdam to over 4000. The new hotels include nhow Rotterdam, Holiday Inn Express and the Mainport Hotel. The latter offers a total of 450 rooms, giving attendees of a congress of this size the opportunity to stay overnight at the congress site.

The new Rotterdam Congress Kit helps Rotterdam Marketing to further promote Rotterdam as a destination for national and international business events and to position it as a friendly, welcoming city. Rotterdam Marketing recently won the bronze M&IT Award in London, presented for ‘Best Overseas Convention Bureau’ in the meetings and congress industry.

The Rotterdam Congress Kit is available here. ___________________________________________________________________________
