The New Mice Destination : Kaohsiung

With the biggest harbor port of Taiwan, Kaohsiung is a beautiful and modern metropolis located southern part of the island. Combine that with welcoming sub-tropical climate, the result is a bustling, comfortable and very attractive destination for international MICE events. Kaohsiung is set to become the next biggest MICE city as a result of ongoing efforts by Kaohsiung City Government. To solidify the development of MICE industry in Kaohsiung and to increase the competitiveness of the city, the Economic Development Bureau of Kaohsiung City government actively launched the “Kaohsiung Meeting & Event Promotion Office” in 2013. The promotion office provides the one-stop shop MICE services, which include the financial and administrative assistances to ensure every MICE planner has access to all the information and local support. More than that, to reach the demand of more MICE events held in Kaohsiung, two important venues, the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center (KEC) and International Convention Center Kaohsiung (ICCK), are also set to open to public continually. ICCK conveniently located in the downtown area of Kaohsiung City and offers 163,180 sq. meter of event space. ICCK provides different sizes of conference rooms for 20 to 1200 people also can accommodate 460 exhibition booths. ICCK’s multifunctional meeting rooms and professional staff guarantee the MICE event activity a successful one. Slated to open in April, 2014 KEC will combine state-of-the-art conference amenities with the comforts and pleasures of a modern, cosmopolitan city situated in a delightful sub-tropical setting. This “green” structure is based upon a light-weight steel frame donned with a bold wavy mantle of glass panels that profile a billowing sail to signify a maiden voyage going seaward. KEC boasts two main halls, the North Hall and South Hall, with offers the profession exhibition spaces for 1,424 standard booths. KEC also features several various sizes of conference rooms can accommodate from 20 people to 2,000 people which give conference planner the different choices. Now, with the passion and profession, this marine city, Kaohsiung, is ready to become a new MICE star!
