Presidential message: Time to educate your politicians!

Time to educate your local politicians!

The biggest annual advocacy programme in our industry, the 2014 IMEX Politicians' Forum, is now open for registrations, so I urge all ICCA colleagues who want to positively influence their officials and politicians to sign up and participate by bringing these influential individuals to Frankfurt in May.

Are you trying to communicate the true value of our industry to achieve stronger financial support or infrastructure investment? Has a new mayor been elected in your city who doesn't understand how incredibly competitive our business is? Have you got a great story to tell about how political support has helped you to win more business or build better meetings infrastructure? This is a great opportunity to educate and enthuse politicians, not just by creating a dialogue between them and meetings industry leaders, but by giving them a platform to learn about the power of our industry from their fellow politicians.

Below you'll find details about how to register your politicians, and more information about the different elements of the Summit.

In my country, Uruguay, having well-informed and supportive politicians has been absolutely critical in achieving our success as an international meetings destination. So I encourage you to use this unique IMEX advocacy platform to achieve this success for your own city or country.

Hoping that 2014 is turning into a successful year for your destination or company!

With best wishes,

Arnaldo Nardone
