NCCIE, the subsidiary of NCC-PCO targeted the international events, together with our partners, Mahidol University with fully support from Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau and government partners such as Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Thai Customs Department have won the bidding of RoboCup2021. The initiative of the bid launched after we had been held the first RoboCup Asia-Pacific (RCAP) last year and its marked as the first successful RoboCup Competition in Asia-Pacific. RCAP could draw more than 700 RoboCup competitors from 20 countries.
RoboCup2021, Bangkok, Thailand to be the first time Global RoboCup Competition in Thailand as well as in ASEAN. From time to time, We, Thailand will launch our flagship events in order to create public awareness in Robotics field which will be a pathway to our goal; RoboCup2021. RoboCup2021 is an annual international robotics competition which focuses on promoting robotics and AI research, by offering a publicly appealing, but formidable challenge. The event targeted to bring about more than 3,000 RoboCup competitors from all around the world.
The official announcement was made during the trustee meeting in RoboCup2018 in Montreal, Canada. The decision to hold the event in Thailand was due to strong contributions of Robotics research and development of Thailand both at the domestic and regional levels of South East Asia and strong collaborations with the government. Furthermore, Thailand was well-known as an attractive destination for international event – said the RoboCup’s representative.
