How is the ICCA database beneficial for your work/organisation?
The ICCA database is a key tool in terms of research for new associative events for our destination, Porto & North of Portugal.
It is beneficial not only for the organisation by facilitating the events research but also for providing a wide range of new information of the business sector. Each event is unique. By using the ICCA database more regularly and by understanding the necessary requirements of each event, I believe that we can get more knowledge and have a higher confidence to develop a successful work. Lastly and most important, by using the ICCA database on a frequent basis, it brings us closer and connects us to our local scientific communities, institutions and organizations , creating great future partnerships and collaborations on attracting international events to our community.
Do you have any tips for your fellow ICCA members?
- Upload the maximum information possible on the database.
- Use the feature “Notes” for internal control – by using this feature you will always have updated information.
- Search on a regular basis, with the help of the advanced research, events where you have a local representative in your country/destination. This feature is crucial and the chances of presenting a winning application bid for your destination increases tremendously.
What positive message would you like to share with ICCAWorld?
In a time where are almost forced to be innovators and creatives, we need to look at the future with different eyes and we need to face new challenges every day. I do believe that the pandemic not also brought the worst of our fears, but also the best of us – we became stronger and more resilient. My message is essentially to continue to do the great work we have done and maintain regular contacts with everyone that we consider essential for our work so by the time that everything backs to normal, we will be ready for this new challenge.
What do you feel can or should be improved in our database?
Importing notes tool and creating a reminders feature. Perhaps the possibility of having a chat with other members to enquire about specific past events.
