ICCA is the International Congress and Convention Association and has around a thousand members from more than 90 countries. It specialises in conferences of international associations. Next week will see its arrival at the Amsterdam conference location Beurs van Berlage for its own international conference, lasting several days. From 12 to 15 July, approximately 150 representatives of conference locations, conference organisers and other professionals from the sector will discuss the latest information on business acquisition in the field of international association conferences.
It is no coincidence that ICCA has chosen Amsterdam. “Amsterdam is a truly international city and has long ranked among the top 10 European cities in terms of the number of international conferences it hosts. Our headquarters are also based in Amsterdam, which means we have plenty of staff on hand,” says Martin Sirk, ICCA CEO. The choice of Beurs van Berlage was also a carefully-considered one. “Beurs van Berlage has been growing for years and has proven itself to be a reliable and experienced partner. This conference centre also has a unique location. Obviously, it makes sense to receive international guests at the heart of the city. That, combined with the capacity and experience of Beurs van Berlage, makes it the ideal location for this conference.”
RSMP, the title of this conference, stands for Research, Sales and Marketing Programme and primarily focuses on how associations with the potential to organise a conference can best be identified and approached. There will also be sessions on dealing with conference content and ensuring that the organiser’s message is effectively communicated at the event. Michiel Lindenbergh, Commercial Director at Beurs van Berlage, is also particularly looking forward to the sessions: “We have been an ICCA member and partner for many years and it has given us the insights we need to grow and develop. It is partly thanks to ICCA that in recent years we have grown to our current size, hosting approximately 30 multi-day international conferences every year. This is another reason why it is fantastic to have the honour of hosting this event next week.”
