Hyderabad Convention Visitors Bureau (HCVB) is India’s only regional CVB dedicated to marketing the city of Hyderabad. The Bureau is a nonprofit organization that is driven on a membership basis, with the philosophy of “Taking Hyderabad to the World and Bringing the World to Hyderabad”. HCVB, with its members, works towards achieving milestones with its members subsists on the economic impact each conference brings to the city. A globally renowned PCO- MCI has been a member of HCVB from its initial steps.
MCI India is a global organization with 60 offices in 31 countries - leveraging global solutions and local expertise and connections to deliver value to clients. Ovation Global is MCI’s DMC brand, which is leading network of destination management companies providing best-in-class DMC services to associations, corporations and agencies. The Ovation brand has firmly established us as industry leaders and we play a key role in the meetings and events industry globally.
MCI India has partnered with HCVB time and again for key events and promoted Hyderabad as a destination, considering its sprawling infrastructure and location advantages. MCI India delivered COP 11 and ICID, two important landmark events in Hyderabad, setting the tone for a long-term relationship with the Bureau.
MCI India takes great pride in partnering with HCVB each time there is an important Conference in Hyderabad. HCVB has been a great enabler in providing access to Hyderabad as a great MICE destination and has opened the floodgates to a great sustainable future for the city as a MICE destination. The advent of business tourism has helped Hyderabad capitalise on its strengths and create a unique positioning for itself in the MICE arena. MCI India, part of the MCI Group, has organised 2 large format congresses in Hyderabad, not to mention several other small to medium sized meetings and events. MCI India was award-winning organiser of the hugely successful COP-11, the biodiversity conclave hosted at HICC, Hyderabad in October 2012, playing host to more than 8,000 delegates from over 70 countries for over 19 days. In recent times MCI India again played host to 2000 delegates for the Metropolis Association’s 11th World Congress in October 2014 and to 1800 delegates from 97 countries for the 17th International Congress on Infectious Diseases in March 2016.
Furthermore, HCVB’s relationship with MCI has been favorable in terms of knowledge gathering and sharing. We look forward to working more closely in the coming years and bolstering the idea of handling MICE in the ever-booming Hyderabad, India. With the world’s focus shifting to sustainability, and MCI being a frontrunner in sustainable meetings and events, we see great synergies in collaborating with HCVB via joint bids and participation in MICE trade fairs together, to bring large-format events to Hyderabad and leverage its infrastructural and accessibility advantages. MCI India on its part will bring the Ovation DMC brand to India and leverage its strategic partnerships and cost arbitrage to support Hyderabad as a MICE destination.
