Thailand is selected for the first time to host SIGGRAPH Asia in Bangkok during 27-30 November 2017 following the successful bid of Bangkok ACM SIGGRAPH Association in May 2016. During the recent press conference of the association, Bangkok ACM SIGGRAPH has announced its readiness to host this event, which is supported by Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and Software Industry Promotion Agency (SIPA), the two government agencies, because the conference is in line with the Thai government’s digital economy policy.
SIGGRAPH Asia, which was established in 2008, is the Asian version of the US’ biggest computer graphic conference. It focuses on the development of computer graphics and interactive techniques. The 2017 event in Bangkok is expected to attract over 7,000 delegates from Asia, United States and Europe. Representing research sector, academia, studios, such as Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, Industrial Light and Magic, as well as, Digital Domain, the delegates will share, exchange and learn the ideas, updates, and techniques of the industry through the conference’s various platforms: computer animation festival, workshops & courses, technical papers & symposiums and exhibitions.
