It is with great pleasure to give all members an update on the progress of ICCA’s efforts in engaging with associations.
After the initial announcement in May of last year about potential membership for associations and the subsequent briefing notes sent in August, members provided valuable feedback, which was further discussed at a Town Hall meeting during the Congress in Dubai.
As a result of the Town Hall meeting in Dubai, the work continued strongly as a collaborative effort of the Board, Board working group, members and staff. A group of members comprising different geographic areas and sectors of membership as well as different views on this topic came forward to support the ICCA Board working group on association relation and Head office staff in providing some more feedback and work out a new draft proposal to be shared with members at large.
The collaboration resulted in many fruitful discussions evaluating all standpoints culminating in the following action points:
- The Board working group will compile a new draft proposal for the extended working group to provide feedback.
- A call will take place mid-March to discuss this further
- After which we will hopefully be able to share more concrete details with the members.
Please look out for more details on this topic in April. If you have any more questions, please feel free to reach out to either Marta Gomes, Chair of the Board Working Group on Association Relations or Ksenija Polla, CMP – ICCA Staff Liaison.
