ICCA Researcher of the Month // January 2018

The red update button is your friend! The more you use it, the more concrete information you get. ICCA members - together with the ICCA team - are working hard to achieve a mutually beneficial situation of sharing information on the ICCA Association Database.

Keep finding ways to press it and you'll be in the running to become the next Researcher of the Month - or even Researcher of the Year!

For January 2018, Kitti Boros, Executive Assistant at Hungarian Convention Bureau, Hungarian Tourism Agency Ltd. has secured the coveted title! Here's what Kitti had to say:

1. Why do you consider it so important to contribute your meeting information to ICCA Data?

I have been dealing with the collecting and recording of data complied using ICCA criteria, the importance of which are the results used to make trends about the conferences of the countries which belong to the associations. This detailed analysis provides relevant data to each branch member. ICCA Database is much more than a simple database; it is an excellent opportunity for networking and professional development. For successful work, the effective cooperation with hotels, venues, DMC-s, PCO-s and universities is essential, the basis of which is good professional connections.

2. What would you like to say to other ICCA members who haven’t actively used the ICCA Database?

Initially I was afraid of working in such big database, but later I realized it is not a big mass of information. On the contrary it is logical, easy to look through and good to use. Collecting and recording data in the ICCA Database requires precise work, but using it can ease our work. Personally, I encourage everybody to use it actively, since it can make everybody very proud if their countries achieve a prominent place in the ICCA Ranking.

3. Do you have any tips for your fellow ICCA members?

Last year I was advised to use the system regularly and not to wait for a huge amount of data to be recorded in it. Taking this person’s advice, I managed to achieve good time management and I was elected to be the best researcher of ICCA in January. For me efficient work means good professional relationships, so I suggest creating good cooperation with partners. It is only a tip. Every idea is useful. What is most important is to use the ICCA Database, since it is a common target.
