MITEC is Now a Member of AIPC

Kuala Lumpur, 8 May 2018 ­– The Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) is proud to announce that we are now a member of AIPC (the International Association of Convention Centres) and will be participating at the 13th Annual AIPC Sales and Marketing Summit, held in cooperation with the IMEX in Frankfurt, Germany.

 

Chief Executive Officer, Gunther Beissel said, “In addition to solidifying our reputation among clients and the industry, joining AIPC will further support MITEC’s growing reputation as a brand-new venue and in turn increase our clients’ confidence levels. AIPC is an excellent platform to expand our network and we look forward to engaging and sharing best practices with our industry colleagues within the AIPC family”.

 

Commenting on the Venue’s addition to the AIPC family, AIPC President Aloysius Arlando said, “MITEC is an impressively designed centre that is well-geared to support the emerging Metropolis precinct of KL, where it is located; and the strong growth potential of business events in KL in the coming years”.

 

AIPC is the industry association for professional convention and exhibition centre managers worldwide. AIPC is committed to encouraging and recognising excellence in convention centre management, while at the same time providing the tools to achieve such high standards through its research, educational and networking programs.

 

MITEC is also proud to be affiliated as a member of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and honoured to bear the UFI (Union des Foires Internationales/Union of International Fairs) approved label.

About the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre

 

MITEC offers state-of-the-art facilities to provide a suitable showcase for large-scale exhibitions and events. As the country’s largest trade and exhibition centre with over 45,000 sqm of exhibition space and triple volume exhibition halls, MITEC is capable of handling capacity like no other venue in the country.

 

A majestic icon, the first of its kind in the country, MITEC is the first component of a high-impact project in KL Metropolis, a city within a city where trade, commerce, living and transport converge over 75 acres of prime land development and strategically located within the Kuala Lumpur's International Trade and Exhibition District.

 

Spanning over three massive double volume floors, MITEC also consists of the largest pillar-less exhibition hall in Malaysia. The venue offers spacious 11 exhibition halls as large as eight football fields combined, a ballroom and 13 meeting rooms.

MITEC, a public-private partnership project with the Malaysia Government is managed and operated by Prisma Galeri Sdn Bhd, an entity under Naza Corporation Holdings Sdn Bhd and owned by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), a national trade promotion agency under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.

 

The RM628 million (129 million Euro) facility was developed by Naza TTDI Sdn Bhd, the property arm of Naza Group (Naza Corporation Holdings Sdn Bhd).
