Christchurch Convention Centre searching for new Director of Marketing and Sales

We are looking for an experienced Director of Marketing and Sales to join the Christchurch Convention and Exhibition Centre team.  The construction of the Convention Centre is scheduled for completion early 2020. The facility has been designed to be a world class, boutique style, full service convention centre to attract, host and manage events that will generate significant economic, educational, commercial, cultural and social benefits to Canterbury.  It will have a 2000 delegate capacity and 1400 seat auditorium, large exhibition hall, 24 meetings rooms and dedicated banquet room.   Our ideal candidate will be inspired to connect with future conference and events clients to sell our City and architectural landmark across international and domestic markets.

Reporting to ?t?karo’s Manager, Strategy and Planning, the Director of Marketing and Sales is responsible for the Convention Centre’s strategic marketing, public relations and sales management. Working closely with the appointed convention centre operator and key stakeholders, the Director of Marketing and Sales will establish a high profile for this world class facility in national and international markets by putting in place marketing and sales plans, an event management system, branding and promotional materials, packaging initiatives and representing the Convention Centre at national and international trade and networking events.
