The Events Industry Council has engaged Oxford Economics to conduct a global analysis of the economic significance of meetings. The study will build on existing studies in selected markets to provide an overall picture of the global importance of meetings on a region by region basis as well as for the top 50 countries. As part of the data collection process, we are asking members or industry partners if they can provide helpful data sources that would ultimately serve as inputs for the economic modelling.
Examples of such data include:
- Past or current research on the impact of meetings in global markets and countries, including corporate publications and academic studies
- International/regional studies conducted by trade, expo, business, and travel associations
- Databases of international meeting organizations, facilities, and businesses
