Final message from ICCA CEO Martin Sirk

After 16 years of building and leading an ICCA that members can be proud to belong to, after hundreds of business trips and meetings held in amazing destinations and thousands of inspiring conversations and collaborations with ICCA members, many of whom have become great friends, I would simply like to say a big thank you.

To all of the individuals who supported and believed in my ideas, who generously shared their insights and expertise and offered their friendship and trust: I’m humbled when I try to add up the contributions you made towards my and ICCA’s many successes over the years.

To our brilliant team in Amsterdam and our Regional Offices, present and past: there isn’t space to spell out my feelings of gratitude and respect. It’s been great fun working with you, and I’ll always especially treasure that exhausted sense of shared achievement after a sleepless Congress week!

Now that the Board has decided new leadership is required for the next stage in ICCA’s development, I step down knowing that I’ve always done my utmost to look after members’ interests and to position ICCA positively on the global stage, and I wish my successor the greatest possible success.

Finally, I intend to remain active in our industry, although there are no firm plans yet. I look forward to catching up with ICCA friends all around the world and to hundreds of new, interesting conversations!
