1. What is your purpose for joining ICCA?
Our purpose of joining ICCA is to explore international cooperation, seek more business opportunities on a win-win basis and let the international community know more about ZZICEC through the platform of ICCA, which is one of the major organisations for the international convention industry.
2. How did ZZICEC get started?
ZZICEC is one of the landmark architectures in Zhengzhou. The People’s Government of Zhengzhou invested Rmb 2.2 billion in 2002 and it was designed by the world-famous architect KISHO KUROKAWA. Covering an area of 230,000 sqm, the building consists of the Convention Centre and the Exhibition Centre. ZZICEC is a professional venue, integrating the functions of conferences, exhibitions, business, catering service, performance and tourism. The Exhibition Hall can accommodate 3,560 pieces of 9 sqm standard shell scheme and the Convention Centre includes a multifunctional hall for 5,000 people, an international theatre for 1,200 people, two smaller theaters for 400 people each and a dozen of medium and small sized meeting rooms. Since the opening of the venue in 2006, 1,844 professional conferences have been staged at ZZICEC and the venue has provided valuable business services for 2.78 million guests from home and abroad.
3. What is the special feature about ZZICEC?
The Zhengzhou city where ZZICEC is located is a key city among the Central China city cluster, an important node city in China’s “Belt and Road” and China’s critical modern comprehensive transport hub. As an important city in the Central China area, the comparatively low transportation and logistics cost is the significant advantage. ZZICEC will take full advantage of the transportation, local industries and the convention and exhibition industry to bring in international conferences so as to create a platform for the local industries and enhance international exchanges. The venue is equipped with “8+1” simultaneous interpretation system, 5G and full WIFI coverage, an efficient team and a standardised + specialised service mode. Meanwhile, the supporting facilities provide convenient accommodation and transportation services for the customers.
4. What is your most favourite story about your company’s success?
The 14th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Nov 2015 is the highest-profile conference staged at ZZICEC. After receiving the task, there were only 22 days for preparation work. Thanks to our excellent team work spirit, high efficiency and superior service standard, our team successfully completed all the conference service tasks and served 6 head of state and 4 observer states. It was the first time the exhibition hall was used to stage an important international conference in China.
5. What is your expectation about ZZICEC’s future development?
We hope that through the platform of ICCA, we can expand our global vision, improve the service level and attract more international conventions to ZZICEC. We will continue to provide warm and considerate service. With persistent efforts, we will endeavor to build ZZICEC into an international venue with a good reputation and improve communications with more international industry associations and venues.
