The BI feedback button is your friend! The more you use it, the more concrete information you get. ICCA members - together with the ICCA team - are working hard to achieve a mutually beneficial situation of sharing information on the ICCA Business Intelligence Database.

Keep finding ways to press it and you'll be in the running to become the next Researcher of the Month - or even Researcher of the Year!

Lara Sandre, Intl. Business Development Manager at Convention Bureau Rimini has secured the coveted title this month! Here's what Lara had to say:

How is the ICCA database beneficial for your work/organisation?

The ICCA database is not only useful, it is essential in my daily work due to its wealth of information, its flexibility, and the immediacy of its responses. It is a key source in terms of business potential, not only for the information it provides but especially because it allows for targeted searches in specific sectors, which in my case (a convention bureau of a second-tier destination) is crucial for initiating effective development activities.

Do you have any tips for your fellow ICCA members?

The ICCA community is made up of many professionals more experienced than me, but I feel I can advise those who are just starting to use this tool to explore it with curiosity and a willingness to experiment, as each of us has specific needs and expectations. To make the most of it, it is helpful to build a clear business strategy that allows for targeted requests and searches: quality is increasingly more important than quantity. I believe that any destination choosing to invest in international development, with the required attentiveness and the proper "basic equipment," can find its space in the large market of international association events.

What positive message would you like to share with ICCAWorld (this doesn’t have to be about work/database/research)

I think we have the privilege of belonging to a very important and powerful industry. Apparently, we do not produce anything—at least not goods or products. Nevertheless, we connect people, we build relationships, we enhance the beauty of our destinations, and we evoke emotions. I love it!
