The BI feedback button is your friend! The more you use it, the more concrete information you get. ICCA members - together with the ICCA team - are working hard to achieve a mutually beneficial situation of sharing information on the ICCA Business Intelligence Database.
Keep finding ways to press it and you'll be in the running to become the next Researcher of the Month - or even Researcher of the Year!
Jane Vong Holmes, Senior Manager - Asia, GainingEdge has secured the coveted title this month! Here's what Jane had to say:
How is the ICCA database beneficial for your work/organisation?
Within GainingEdge, the ICCA database is our first go-to whenever we are doing work on international associations meetings. Although we can also get information from websites, we still head towards the ICCA database because it holds verified information. This means, that the entry has undergone strict ICCA scrutiny as far as authenticity is concerned. We then cross check some key information to ensure we are on the same page. And then, we carry on with our research using various other sources for supplementary information.
Do you have any tips for your fellow ICCA members?
In addition to convention leads development, we use ICCA BI for buyers qualification (i.e. to check if the information about their meetings, given by those who apply for buyer status, is correct).
When we did some RFP sampling to get a snapshot of associations who have delegates’ accessibility as pre-requisites, ICCA BI was the fast track to getting to various RFPs over a diverse range of industries for our sampling.
What positive message would you like to share with ICCAWorld?
ICCA BI is my first port-of-call for many years beginning 2001 when I took my first ICCA Data (as it was known at that time) instructions at ICCA HQ Amsterdam under the watchful eyes of Marco van Itterzon. From there, I took off and although I am not an expert, the database has been a faithful companion in my research kit.
