ICCA is proud to announce the ICCA Food-Waste Management Toolkit for Associations. This resource was inspired by the Bangkok Protocol on Sustainable Gastronomy, a framework launched by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) at the 62nd ICCA Congress in Bangkok in 2023. The Toolkit provides a roadmap for associations to set strategic guidelines aimed at transforming food and beverage planning at events to significantly reduce food waste and promote sustainable gastronomy.

Developed in partnership with LightBlue Consulting, the Toolkit explains the sustainability and financial reasons for tackling food waste, providing an overview for how food waste is managed by venues, offering actionable steps. Associations are not food waste specialists, but they can partner with venues and destinations committed to making a difference. No matter the size your conference or the size of your team, every association contribute to making a difference.

ICCA is committed to driving innovative sustainability initiatives, sharing insights, and contributing our experience as a collaborative knowledge partner within the community. The ICCA Food-Waste Management Toolkit for Associations is a valuable resource for Associations to contribute to our industry's overarching goal to improve waste-reduction processes and procedures and continue to innovate in the sustainability space.
