Sweden does not have a national Convention Bureau. However, national collaboration is strong through the association The Swedish Network of Convention Bureaus (SNCVB), whose aim is to strengthen the country’s meetings and events industry.

The association unites 28 convention bureaus across Sweden. Its shared purpose is to provide a common platform through which Swedish convention bureaus collaborate on industry-wide issues, exchange knowledge, and support business development. This collective effort enhances both national and local destination attractiveness and competitiveness within the global meetings market.

SNCVB plays an important role in raising awareness among policymakers, authorities, academic institutions, and opinion leaders about the economic and societal impact of the meetings industry. Data collected by SNCVB members is compiled into a shared database and forms the basis of an annual Congress Report, providing a statistical overview of national congresses held in Swedish cities.

The organization also serves as a resource for event professionals, offering guidance and contact points across the country. The national associations featured in the database also form the foundation of the annual client-supplier forum organized by SNCVB, Mötets dag (“Meeting Days”).

The forum, Mötets dag, has been successfully organized annually for 25 years. Each year it rotates among member convention bureaus and gathers around 50 associations and convention bureaus. It provides a strong platform for experience sharing and structured networking, including speed-dating sessions. Together with national associations, we explore how to jointly create effective and valuable meetings—strengthening both the association sector and Swedish cities as meeting destinations, and further increasing the number of international congresses hosted in Sweden.
