Diana Berger, Adelaide Convention Centre, has secured the coveted title this month! Here's what she had to say:
1. How does the ICCA Business Intelligence Database support your work or organisation?
The ICCA Business Intelligence Database is a valuable resource in my day-to-day research. It helps identify potential business opportunities, understand the rotation patterns of international conferences, and verify information. It’s also particularly helpful for finding the right contacts within associations and organisations.
By bringing all this information together in one place, it helps streamline the research process, enabling us to efficiently identify opportunities that align with Adelaide’s strengths as a global business events destination.
2. What tips would you share with fellow ICCA members looking to get more from the database?
I’d encourage fellow ICCA members to explore the full range of features available in the database, particularly the ability to save searches which can be a real time-saver, while the decision-making information provides valuable insights into how and when destination decisions are made. I also find the remarks section incredibly useful for keeping track of important details, and adding links to association websites makes it easy to come back to the information when needed.
3. What positive message would you like to share with the ICCA community? It can be about anything, not just work or research.
Having recently started in my role at Adelaide Convention Centre as Business Development Executive – International, I’m incredibly grateful to have received the Researcher of the Month recognition.
ICCA has been a great tool and resource to me as I’ve found my way in a new role and industry. Through the database, I’ve learned so much about international associations, conference rotations and the many opportunities that exist across the global meetings industry.
For anyone starting out, my advice is to stay curious and keep exploring. There is so much to discover and so many opportunities out there - ICCA provides the tools, insights and connections to help you find them. I’m excited to continue learning, researching and connecting with the ICCA community along the way.
