What motivated you to join ICCA?
At Crowne Plaza Vientiane, we believe collaboration is the key to elevating both our hotel and Laos as a competitive MICE destination. Joining ICCA is a strategic step in expanding our global network, strengthening our position within the international association meetings community, and attracting more international congresses and conventions to Vientiane. By working closely with ICCA and industry partners, we aim to position Crowne Plaza Vientiane as a leading gateway for association meetings while contributing to the long-term development and global recognition of Laos as an emerging MICE destination.
Tell us your story. How did Crowne Plaza Vientiane get started?
Crowne Plaza Vientiane opened under IHG Hotels & Resorts in 2017 as the first internationally branded 5-star hotel in the city, introducing a new benchmark for hospitality, meetings, and events in the country.
From the very beginning, our vision has extended beyond providing accommodation, we set out to become the preferred venue where governments, international organisations, corporations, and event planners could confidently host meetings that make an impact. Over the years, we have continually invested in our people, facilities, and service excellence to support this ambition.
Today, together with the newly opened our state-of-the-art Convention Centre, we offer one of the most comprehensive MICE portfolios in Laos. This integrated destination enables us to host everything from executive board meetings and incentive groups to large-scale conferences and international conventions, reinforcing Vientiane's position on the global meetings map.
What is your favorite success story from your organisation?
One of our proudest achievements is being selected as a key venue for ASEAN events held in Vientiane, including for the 2024 ASEAN Summit, with the hotel hosting high-level meetings and welcoming state visits, heads of government, ministers, diplomatic delegations, and international organizations from across the region. Successfully delivering these prestigious events demonstrated not only our operational excellence but also the capability of Laos to host meetings of international significance.
Over the years, Crowne Plaza Vientiane has earned the trust of government agencies, multinational corporations, embassies, and international organizations, becoming the preferred and trusted hotel for high-profile meetings, conferences, and official events in Laos. This reputation has been built through unwavering service standards, attention to detail, strong security protocols, and a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional experiences.
