What motivated you to join ICCA?

Global Events has always been a company focused on the MICE segment. However, for several years now, we have been gaining ground in organizing international congresses. Thanks to this development, we created a specialized department within the company, and the logical next step was to become part of the world’s leading association.

 

Tell us your story. How did Global Events Costa Rica come to be?

Global Events was founded in 2003 in response to a local market need for a professional corporate event organizer. What started as an idea 22 years ago has since grown into a multinational company with a presence in 10 countries across LATAM.

 

What sets Global Events Costa Rica apart from others?

Two things have distinguished us throughout our history. The first is our personalized service—we have clients who have been with us for over 16 years. Our commitment to them is unquestionable, and we always give our best effort to ensure they shine at their events. The second key differentiator is our operational and financial structure, which guarantees that our clients receive the same quality service we started with 22 years ago in Costa Rica, regardless of the country where we operate.

 

What can we expect from Global Events Costa Rica in the future?

The consolidation of our expansion in LATAM and growth in the Southern Cone and Mexico markets. Beyond that, we aim to ensure that our company culture remains strong over time and adapts effectively to the local cultures of our markets. We are currently undergoing significant automation processes and obtaining sustainability-focused certifications.

 

What trends do you see in association congresses and meetings?

We are definitely seeing significant changes in the use of technology and sustainability. Congresses now have robust educational and professional agendas while also allowing time for networking and experiencing the destination. Additionally, we see congresses that strongly support best practices and local success stories, which are incredibly well received by attendees.

 

Can you mention a challenge your organisation is currently facing?

Our organization has just completed a major expansion process, and now our challenge is to strengthen our position so we can continue advancing our development.
