Tell us your story. How did your organisation get started?
The establishment of Messe Taoyuan was driven by the needs of Northern Taiwan’s thriving industrial clusters and the tremendous potential of the Taoyuan Aerotropolis as an international MICE destination.
With direct, non-stop flights to more than 100 destinations across nearly 30 countries, Taiwan’s largest international airport serves as a vital gateway connecting Taiwan to the world. Complemented by the High-Speed Rail, which links major cities across the island, and the Airport MRT, which connects key development zones and industrial parks throughout Northern Taiwan, Taoyuan has evolved into a dynamic transportation hub where people, ideas, businesses, and innovation converge.
Leveraging its exceptional connectivity, Taoyuan has steadily developed into a center for advanced manufacturing, logistics, information technology, research and development, and higher education. Against this backdrop, Messe Taoyuan was strategically established as a world-class platform that enables Taiwan to showcase and connect its technological excellence, cultural richness, artistic creativity, and, above all, the warmth and hospitality of its people to the global community.
What sets your organisation apart?
Spanning a total area of 80,000 square meters, Messe Taoyuan is Taiwan’s largest international conference venue. Designed with an innovative “box-in-box” architectural concept, the facility delivers outstanding performance in energy efficiency, natural daylight utilization, and sound insulation, while providing exceptional flexibility to accommodate events of various sizes and configurations.
Messe Taoyuan features a grand conference hall with a seating capacity of 3,200, a 3,000-square-meter banquet hall on the 5th floor, and 20 multifunctional meeting rooms. The column-free exhibition hall accommodates up to 600 standard booths and can be divided into two independent spaces, offering versatile solutions for exhibitions, conferences, and corporate events while supporting the needs of regional industries and international business gatherings.
The 3,000-square-meter banquet hall is operated in partnership with a renowned Taiwanese restraurant under the new brand, Le Pilot, delivering international-standard catering services for MICE events. From large-scale gala dinners and product launches to cultural events and conference coffee breaks, Le Pilot offers customized culinary experiences that combine local flavors with global standards, creating memorable and distinctive event experiences for visitors from Taiwan and around the world.
What is your favorite success story from your organisation?
One of Messe Taoyuan’s most noteworthy success stories was serving as the host venue for the 2024 JCI World Congress, which coincided with the venue’s official opening. Held from October 29 to November 2, 2024, the congress attracted more than 3,000 young leaders and JCI representatives from over 100 countries and regions. As the first large-scale international event hosted at Messe Taoyuan, it carried significant symbolic importance for both the venue and the city of Taoyuan.
The congress was designed to strengthen international exchange and cross-cultural dialogue among members, foster innovation and entrepreneurship, and promote sustainable development within the organization. By fully leveraging the flexibility and versatility of Messe Taoyuan’s conference and exhibition facilities, the organizer successfully achieved these objectives.
The conference program was strategically distributed across multiple floors according to session size and format. Meeting rooms on the 1st floor accommodated national delegation meetings, committee meetings, workshops, and small- to medium-sized training sessions, with approximately 250 participants per session. The 3rd-floor conference facilities hosted medium- to large-scale breakout sessions, competitions, professional development courses, and networking activities, serving up to 800 participants per session. Meanwhile, the 7th-floor Grand Hall was the venue for major events such as the General Assembly and plenary sessions, welcoming more than 2,000 attendees.
The exhibition hall, divided into two independent yet interconnected spaces, served as the registration area, exhibition venue, and site for major social functions, including the Opening Ceremony, Formosa Night, and Global Village Night. The layout enabled more than 3,000 participants to gather, network, and move seamlessly between adjacent event spaces under one roof. This demonstrated Messe Taoyuan’s exceptional capability in managing large-scale attendee flows and supporting multiple concurrent activities—an essential requirement for major international conventions.
The successful delivery of the 2024 JCI World Congress significantly enhanced Messe Taoyuan’s international reputation and demonstrated its capability to host world-class conferences and large-scale global events.
