What was your motivation to join ICCA?
Sentosa Development Corporation's (SDC) fundamental mission is to promote and market Singapore's leading island resort destination for both business and leisure. We recognise the critical need to boost the island's visibility among international meeting planners. ICCA membership provides Sentosa with global industry connections, market intelligence, and enhanced visibility in the international MICE sector. Through access to comprehensive databases, educational resources, and networking opportunities, we can strengthen our position as a premium destination while supporting Singapore's broader MICE industry objectives.

As a statutory board working closely with the Singapore Tourism Board and other government agencies, SDC offers international associations a single touchpoint for coordinating across our extensive partner network. This integrated approach simplifies planning while maximizing opportunities - whether it's hosting a city conference with resort social programs or creating hybrid events that leverage both environments.

Our commitment to environmental stewardship is exemplified by Sentosa’s 2022 GSTC-D certification and the pioneering Sentosa Carbon Neutral Network, which unites 35 island partners in a collective pursuit of sustainable practices. Further affirming our leadership in sustainable tourism, Sentosa was selected as the host destination for the GSTC 2024 Singapore Conference. This prestigious event brings together sustainability champions from over 50 countries and showcases how Sentosa’s island partners (IPs) collaborate seamlessly to welcome and engage a global community passionate about advancing responsible travel. Together, we ensure that events on Sentosa deliver both meaningful impact and lasting responsibility.

What can we expect to see from your organisation in the future?
Through our various initiatives such as the Sentosa Solarisation Programme across 46 locations and the ambitious target to achieve 100% electrification of intra-island public transport by 2025, Sentosa is laying a strong foundation for a greener future. We are working towards 100% Green Hotel certification for all accommodation options on the island, with green certification efforts also underway for our venues and attractions.
