What was your motivation to join ICCA?

Our motivation to join ICCA stems from a passion for collaboration and innovation in the events industry. As a company that thrives on innovative ideas and cutting-edge approaches, we see ICCA as the perfect platform to connect with like-minded professionals worldwide. Being part of ICCA allows us to exchange knowledge on the latest trends in meetings and events, learn from industry leaders, and contribute our own insights. Ultimately, we joined ICCA because we believe that by engaging with this dynamic community, we can collectively elevate the standard of experiential events for associations and create more impactful experiences together.

Tell us your story. How The Fame Events Sdn Bhd started?

The Fame Events began as a dream of mine back in 2014. I originally aspired to be an architect of buildings, but I discovered my true calling as a "brand architect" – someone who designs experiences instead of structures. I founded The Fame Events Sdn Bhd to merge the worlds of creativity and strategy, crafting events that engage people on multiple levels. What started as a humble venture in private parties & wedding planner fueled by passion for storytelling and design has grown into an award-winning event agency. Along the journey, I even authored Malaysia’s first book on corporate event management entitled "Professional Events with Honour & Characters" , sharing our philosophy of creating events with honour and character. This founding story of blending artistry with purposeful design still drives our team today.

We set ourselves apart by blending high art with high tech, combining imaginative design with the latest technology (we love experimenting with AR/VR and metaverse elements) to create something truly innovative. Every project is approached like a masterpiece in the making. We pay meticulous attention to each detail to ensure it reflects the client’s identity and values. This holistic approach, pairing multi-sensory creativity with strategic brand focus, makes our events memorable and uniquely The Fame.

We are future-forward in our outlook and constantly pushing creative boundaries. In the coming years, you can expect The Fame Events to introduce even more groundbreaking ways to engage audiences. We’re already experimenting with blending reality and virtual experiences – envision events where physical and digital interactions merge seamlessly to enchant attendees. Our vision is to create truly unparalleled brand moments that leave a lasting impact – in fact, we’ve set a goal of delivering 100 such innovative experiences in the coming years. You might see us integrating new sensory technologies and thematic IP event experience to make each guest’s experience unique. We also plan to broaden our global reach and collaborations, bringing immersive Malaysian-grown creativity to international stages. In essence, we will continue to be bold and imaginative, always looking for the next big idea to transform events into unforgettable journeys.

What is an industry challenge your organization is facing currently?

One of our current challenges is maintaining top-tier talent loyalty in a highly competitive market, especially when many clients operate with limited budgets, which can constrain creative execution and fair compensation.
