ICCA Calls for Candidates Interested in Standing for Election for Vacancies on The ICCA Board of Directors

June 2025 — We are calling for candidates who are interested in standing for election for the following vacancies on the ICCA Board of Directors. Elections will take place at the ICCA General Assembly 2025 which will take place on Sunday 09 November 2025 in Porto, Portugal.

Sector: Meetings Support
Sector: Destination Marketing (1 vacant seat)
Geographic Representative: North America
Geographic Representative: Latin America & The Caribbean
Geographic Representative: Middle East

SECTORS

Meetings Support – One vacancy

Jaap Bakker comes to the end of his 3rd and final term and cannot stand for re-election.

Destination Marketing – one vacancy

Melissa A. Riley comes to the end of her first term and can stand for re-election.

GEOGRAPHICAL REPRESENTATIVES

Geographic – North America – One vacancy

Glenn Duncan comes to the end of his 3rd and final term and cannot stand for re-election.

Geographic – Latin America & The Caribbean – one vacancy

Diana Rodriguez comes to the end of her second term and can stand for re-election.

Geographic – Middle East – one vacancy

Mubarak Al Shamisi comes to the end of his 3rd and final term and cannot stand for re-election.

NOMINATIONS FOR SECTOR REPRESENTATION

Candidates who intend to stand for election or re-election for the following Sectors vacancies on the ICCA Board: Destination Marketing and Meetings Support, must be:

The primary contact of the member organisation.
Must be employed by the ICCA Member and be on the payroll of the member organisation, and;
Must be present at the General Assembly where the election shall take place.
Their organisation must be members in good financial standing with ICCA (the current years’ membership fee should have been paid).
Any additional requirements will be communicated once the candidacy has been fully submitted and received.

Candidates should inform ICCA Head Office via governance@iccaworld.org that they wish to stand for election or re-election, together with:

A support letter from their company.
They should be duly nominated and seconded in writing by two members of the Sector they represent, who are the primary contact for the member organisation which is in financial good standing with ICCA (the current year’s membership fee should have been paid).

Their candidacy, including the requirements, must be received at ICCA Head Office no later than Monday 8 September 2025, 5pm CET. Please be aware that it is the responsibility of the candidate to make sure their candidacy is complete. Any incomplete candidacy will be rejected.

NOMINATIONS FOR GEOGRAPHICAL REPRESENTATION

Candidates who intend to stand for election or re-election for the vacancies for the following geographical regions on the ICCA Board: North America, Latin America & The Caribbean, and Middle East must be:

The primary contact of the member organisation.
Must be employed by the ICCA Member and be on the payroll of the member organisation, and;
Must be present at the General Assembly where the election shall take place.
Their organisation must be members in good financial standing with ICCA (the current years’ membership fee should have been paid).
Any additional requirements will be communicated once the candidacy has been fully submitted and received.

A support letter from their company.
They should be duly nominated and seconded in writing by two members in their specific region who are the primary contact for the member organisation, which is in financial good standing with ICCA (the current year’s membership fee should have been paid).

A list of candidates with their nominator and seconder will be communicated to the ICCA Members no later than Monday 15 September 2025.

NOTE: there are no elections for the following Sectors/Geographic Regions in 2025:

Sector: Meetings Management (2 seats)
Sector: Venues (2 seats)
Geographic Representative: Africa (1 seat)
Geographic Representative: Asia Pacific (1 seat)
Geographic Representative: Europe (1 seat)

Please send your application to governance@iccaworld.org if you are interested to stand for election for one of the above-mentioned vacancies on the ICCA Board of Directors. Your application must be received at ICCA Head Office no later than Monday 8 September 2025, 5pm CET.
