This month, we get to know Company for International Congresses Ltd.:
What was your motivation to join ICCA?
Our motivation to join ICCA is to strengthen our international presence and become more actively connected with the global meetings industry. We see ICCA membership as a natural next step in our development. We look forward to building new relationships, exchanging knowledge and best practices, and contributing our experience while promoting Bulgaria as an attractive destination for international meetings and congresses.
Tell us your story. How did your organisation get started?
Company for International Congresses Ltd. (CIC) was founded nearly 25 years ago by Zdravka Dimitrova, driven by her passion for bringing people together through events. From the very beginning, her vision was to combine professionalism with a personal approach, creating events that deliver results while leaving a lasting impression.
Over the years, CIC has grown into an experienced Professional Congress Organiser, delivering national and international congresses, conferences and meetings across a wide range of sectors. What has remained unchanged is the philosophy at the heart of the company – professionalism, care and a genuine passion for what we do.
What sets your organisation apart?
What sets CIC apart is our genuine commitment to our clients’ missions and goals. We see every event not simply as a project to deliver, but as an opportunity to connect people, share knowledge and create meaningful partnerships. Our approach is built on professionalism, competence, ethics and empathy, combined with the flexibility and personal attention of a closely connected team. We believe the best results come from growing together with our clients and becoming a trusted partner in their success.
What is your favourite success story from your organisation?
Our favourite success story is not one particular event. It is made up of the small successes our team creates every day – the challenges they overcome, the relationships they build and the care they put into creating a space where professional and scientific communities can meet, exchange knowledge and move their fields forward.
These may seem like small steps individually, but together they become part of something much more meaningful. Knowing that our work helps people connect, ideas travel further and professional communities grow is, for us, the greatest success of all.
Can you name a challenge your organisation is currently facing?
One exciting challenge ahead is how to turn the international spotlight on Bulgaria into a lasting legacy. With Bulgaria preparing to host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027, the real opportunity goes far beyond the event itself. It is about the knowledge and experience that remain, the people and teams that grow through it, the standards we raise and the confidence we build as an industry. For us, the challenge is to make sure that major international moments like this leave something valuable behind for Bulgaria long after the event itself is over.
What can we expect to see from your organisation in the future?
In the future, we want to expand our international work and bring more international congresses and professional communities to Bulgaria. We hope to contribute to strengthening Bulgaria’s position as a congress destination, while continuing to grow as a team and develop new partnerships. As a new ICCA member, we are also looking forward to becoming actively involved in the community and learning from the experience of other members.
