The red update button is your friend! The more you use it, the more concrete information you get. ICCA members - together with the ICCA team - are working hard to achieve a mutually beneficial situation of sharing information on the ICCA Business Intelligence Database.

Keep finding ways to press it and you'll be in the running to become the next Researcher of the Month - or even Researcher of the Year!

Julie Berg, Senior Bid Manager - Congress at Wonderful Copenhagen has secured the coveted title this month! Here's what Julie had to say:

How is the ICCA database beneficial for your work/organisation?

The ICCA database, along with our CRM system, is the backbone (and often the starting point) of our research. It is an essential tool for updates, quality checking, and adding essential information to our mapping of international association congresses.

Do you have any tips for your fellow ICCA members?

Remember to follow the ‘Open RFPs’ for any possible bid opportunities. And also, to take the time to dive into the new ‘Governmental’ and ‘Sports’ additions to the database. Furthermore, for a realistic idea of attendees, remember to always look at the ‘Attendance’ data for each congress rotation, rather than only the average number of attendees in ‘Essentials’.

What positive message would you like to share with ICCAWorld (this doesn’t have to be about work/database/research).

It is so important to take responsibility, base your initiatives on data and collaboration, and share your knowledge in this industry, whether that is within sustainability (NetZero work for example), legacy work, bid intelligence, or anything else beneficial. Hopefully, this will also reflect in what you attract to your destination and how the local society can benefit from the eventual broader value creation. If we (continue to) share within our business industry, we also get insights and valuable learnings in return.
