The red update button is your friend! The more you use it, the more concrete information you get. ICCA members - together with the ICCA team - are working hard to achieve a mutually beneficial situation of sharing information on the ICCA Association Database.
Keep finding ways to press it and you'll be in the running to become the next Researcher of the Month - or even Researcher of the Year!
Tom Swaen, Business Development Manager – Medical Associations at Maastricht Convention Bureau has secured the coveted title this month! Here's what Tom had to say:
How is the ICCA database beneficial for your organization?
ICCA helps us identifying whether we should bid on a particular congress. Maastricht Convention Bureau has a strong focus on events that align with the spearheads of the Maastricht region: Health, Chemistry & Materials, Food & Nutrition and Data Sciences. We use the database on a daily basis to search for association congresses that align with our strengths. I enjoy using the portal because it gives us relevant background information about moving patterns, requirements of the association and additional information that is not open to the public in general, or not easy to find.
Do you have any tips for your fellow ICCA members?
Off course, what makes data only relevant, is when the data is up to date and as complete as possible. Therefor I think it makes sense, so we can mutually benefit, is to regularly provide up-to-date information to ICCA. And another take away just for yourself: watch the educational videos so you can make full use of the functions provided in the tool.
What positive message would you like to share with ICCAWorld?
Feel free to reach out to me in case you would have questions to any of the medical congresses that took place in Maastricht in the past or are obviously going to take place in Maastricht in the upcoming years. I would also really appreciate it if you could share your experiences with medical congresses that have not been to Maastricht yet.
