AMSTERDAM, 30 May 2024 — ICCA, the International Congress and Convention Association, is pleased to announce the results of its 2024 Association Meeting Needs Survey. Building on a wealth of insight gathered from previous surveys, the newest iteration has collated insights from associations around the globe.

The survey results offer a comprehensive overview of the evolving landscape within the international association meetings industry, and sheds light on changes in strategic priorities, meeting formats, financial models, challenges, and advancements in technology among associations globally.

"Our industry continues to demonstrate excellent growth and flexibility in the face of ongoing global challenges," said Senthil Gopinath, CEO of ICCA. “Associations have taken the teachings of the last few years and used this information to make strategic decisions about operations and services, deftly adapting to the fast-changing nature of meetings and events. ICCA is proud to play a key role in supporting the Association Community as we all navigate new ways of doing business and grow together as an industry."

The survey was conducted in collaboration with European Society of Association Executives (ESAE), the African Society of Association Executives (AfSAE) and the Asia-Pacific Federation of Association Organizations (APFAO).

Survey findings included respondents indicating they would be diversifying revenue streams and expanding geographic reach in addition to investing in emerging technologies and continuing to focus on DEI efforts and sustainability.

AI and data-driven strategies were represented as well, and some associations indicated efforts to adopt this emerging technology for content creation and member services. The need for educational support and guidance on educational methodologies and best practices was also expressed.
