This Month we get to know better Medcon Information Consultancy Co., Ltd.

What was your motivation to join ICCA?

In 2023, Medcon took a significant leap forward in the internationalization of its products and services by undertaking a comprehensive upgrade of its SaaS based conference management platform. This involved adopting an Amazon Web Service global server deployment strategy and implementing seamless language switching among multiple interfaces, among other technological optimizations. Later that year, Medcon boldly declared the strategic slogan "Go Global or Go Out," a targeted move underscoring the company's ambition to conquer international markets.

We also had our English website updated at the end of 2023 and we are preparing the English promotional materials for our products at the same time.

By becoming an ICCA member, it serves as a strategy for our business internationalization process and expansion into international markets. Medcon will undertake multi-level initiatives to align more closely with international standards and practices, including:

  • Adopting and developing cutting-edge conference technologies
  • Optimizing conference management processes for international events
  • Building an internationalized/localized professional team
  • Compliance with international regulations and standards
  • Forging strategic partnerships
  • Assuming corporate social responsibility

What is your favourite success story from your organisation?

To be frank, each international client or conference we engage with presents a unique and valuable learning experience for me. The 17th International Congress of Endocrinology was held in Beijing at the year of 2016. In the context of this conference service, I was entrusted for the first time to represent the organizers from China, which is the Chinese Medical Association, in communicating and meeting with international organizing entities, overseeing comprehensive planning and implementation for the conference. Moreover, during the preparatory phase, I acted on behalf of the organizer, attending and promoting the conference at the ENDO2016 in Boston. We have had a great success for this joint event.

What can we expect to see from Medcon Information Consultancy Co., Ltd. in the future?

In summary, with our successful admission into ICCA, Medcon will confidently embark on a path towards greater internationalization. This journey will involve deploying a variety of measures, including establishing an internationalized team, refining project management processes, and fully aligning with international data security standards. Through these multifaceted efforts, we aim to significantly enhance our competitiveness and influence within the global conference market, aspiring to establish ourselves as a trusted, world-class provider of conference technology services.

  • Personalization: Meeting organizers are leveraging data analytics and attendee feedback to tailor experiences, content, and networking opportunities to individual preferences and interests.
  • Technology Integration: Innovations such as AI-powered matchmaking, mobile event apps, and immersive technologies like augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are enhancing attendee experiences and facilitating seamless event management.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): There's a growing emphasis on fostering diverse and inclusive environments within association meetings, with efforts to ensure representation, accessibility, and equitable opportunities for all participants.
  • Flexibility and Agility: Given the uncertainty caused by global events like the COVID-19 pandemic, flexibility in event planning, contract negotiations, and contingency measures has become paramount to adapt to evolving circumstances and ensure successful outcomes.

These trends reflect the evolving needs and expectations of association meeting attendees and organizers, driving innovation and transformation within the industry.

What is an industry challenge your organisation is facing currently?

Our current major challenges lie in the lack of international conference resources and the development of an international professional team.
